DAN RATHER IS IN A FIGHT FOR HIS PROFESSIONAL LIFE: including his legacy....and he has decided to hunker in the bunker instead and risk mortal injury instead of waving the white flag early and sneaking out with just a flesh wound. THIS will be interesting, including its effect on Bush v. Kerry.

 

IT IS OBVIOUS that the documents in question are bogus...it is one in a zillion this guy would write such a document...one in a zillion he would have had access to the type of equipment used...the format is not standard military....and on and on. In short..it's BS.

 

BUT DAN has decided to stick it out and hope for an "expert versus expert" tie in the court of public opinion. This kind of tie can be gained perhaps, thanks to the preponderance of liberals in our media. However...with talk radio, the internet and Fox News...not to mention some liberals who would personally love to see Dan take a fall...it is not a done deal. This story has some legs, it would appear...and the longer Dan tries to force a tie...the worse it will be, in liklihood, for Kerry Edwards.

 

Weekend TV news shows will be interesting.

MEMO TO DAN RATHER: if you're going to present a fraudulent document that was supposedly written in 1972...it might just be a good idea to use equipment that was available in 1972....or your "street cred" might just take a hit. NO DUH.

 

This one is just delicious....with CBS, a division of the Kerry Campaign, getting slammed for running a big story on George W Bush skipping out on the Air National Guard based on these phony docs. The ridiculous thing is, any casual observer can tell that they're fishy....but apparently the high and mighty all anointed way overpaid media maven Rather is not smart enough to pick that out. I don't EVER want to hear again that Dan Rather is a smart man. He is an agenda'd blithering idiot who likely just removed and remaining shred of cred. And I love it.

WELL LOOKEY HERE....after all these years, we find out about the true ACLU. Yes, on their new television ad campaign...or actually by the "ACLU Foundation" which is probably a 527 group...the ACLU says that what they stand for is "neither liberal or conservative...not left or right."

 

Well, they're partly correct. What they stand for isn't conservative and it has NEVER BEEN RIGHT. Who are they trying to fool with this nonsense.

 

This particular ad was about the Patriot Act...but you know, I didn't hear much from the ACLU about stuff like this while the Twin Towers were still smoking. Just more proof...it is only after years of conservative rule that America is safe enough for liberals. NOTE: we aren't safe enough yet.

 

KERRY NOW says he would have had our allies pay for the Iraq war and spent the 200 billion on health care, education, job creation, etc. MEMO TO KERRY: the FIRST repsonsibility of the Federal Government is our COMMON DEFENSE...not the other stuff.

 

BTW...are we to believe...that on the strength of John Kerry's character and charisma (ha) that he would charm the French and the Germans et al out of their cash for this war? I mean really...you would think he's been a professional gold digger or something. Er, well, maybe he DOES have a point.....

LIBERALS ARE JUST CHILDISH, PERIOD. With John Effen Kerry still stinging...and sinking...in light of the Swift Boat ad attack and the Republican convention...his official tantrum has begun.

 

Out today, a group called "Texans for Truth" (original title folks) has started an ad campaign directed at George Bush's career in the Air National Guard. MEMO TO LIBS AND KERRY: Bush NEVER made his time in the national guard his campaign theme...Kerry DID make Viet Nam HIS theme....take a hint. It won't work, and it's childish!

 

Besides, the whole Bush bio is one where he has admited that he was not much count until age 40. His resume today starts with ownership of the Texas Rangers, goes thru being two time Governor of Texas and four years as Commander in Chief. He has never held a convention full of historical self-gratification (sorry, the word works here) the way Kerry did last month.

 

Kerry not only wants us to think that he was God's gift to the military at age 21...but that we should actually overlook the past 35 years in favor of those four magnificent months.....and 12 days.

 

Geez...these people seem so familiar....they remind me of my 8 year old AT HIS WORST MOMENTS! And they want to run the country???!!! No thanks. 

WELL NOW MR. PUTIN IS NOT SO OPPOSED to the strategy of pre-emption.....what a shock. In the past few weeks, the Russians have lost two airliners and a school full of kids and teachers to the Islamo-facists...the Chechyn division. NOW...it has suddenly dawned on them that this terror thing is for real, is world wide...and needs to be fought. YOU GOTTA LAUGH at the predictability of the main stream media...as predicted many places, cheifly on the Rush show, is now celebrating the 1000th death of a US soldier in Iraq. You can count on the media for several things...the obligatory soup kitchen stories at Thanksgiving, the obligatory "this is still a dangerous storm" stories when a Hurricane gets downgraded...and celebrating bad news when a Republican is in office. And on and on.

 

BTW..while we're looking at the scoreboard...where is the 3000 tally from 9-11 and what about the tens of thousands of terrorists and enemy solidiers who will no longer hurt any innocents anywhere? Where is the scoring column for innocent Russians killed this month?

 

ONE THING YOU CAN COUNT ON with Chris Matthews is a tortured attempt to make Republicans and conservatives look bad with other so called conservatives as his expert guests. Last night he had Pat Buchannan on display. Buchanan, who wrote a book "Where the Right went Wrong" about Iraq is getting all kinds of air time from gleeful liberal media types who have spent most of Buchannan's public life hating him. MEMO TO PAT and CHRIS: Pat is no conservative anymore...to try and carve out a niche in past Republican primaries he morhped into a kind of a neo-populists-isolationist pro labor social conservative kind of a thing.... with about a 2% following. His views on national defense are perfect...for the world of 1910. He is just pathetic.The name of his book should be "Where Pat went Left."

 

WINNING THE SMARMY SELF RIGHTEOUS award yesterday...(an award that usually goes to John McCain most every day) is MSNBC's Keith Olbermann. In an on-air hissy fit, he let it slip that he "did not vote for Dick Cheney." No Keith....you must be kidding. Olbermann went on to add that he tries not to make knee jerk reactions based on liberal or conservative. You're right Keith...your knee jerk reactions are NEVER conservative.

 

CBS HAS JOINED THE BOSTON GLOBE as an official part of the Kerry Campaign...with their second story last night "proving" how John Kerry is not a flip-flopper by reporter John Roberts. Right. And Britney Spears was NOT drunk, Michael Jackson and OJ are innocent.....

 

 

IT HAS BEEN WRIGHTHOT.COM's position for years that liberalism is best summed up by the term childish. You know...the need for a mommy figure government...the tendency to look at everything emotionally...the natural inclination that everyone else is as selfish and evil as they are....the lack of the ability to face reality....etc ad nauseum. Another very irritating behavior is the tendency to accuse their opposition of EXACTLY what they are doing.

 

CASE IN POINT: the Kerry campaign's coniption fit at the GOP convention. While the GOP laughed at the very humorous hypocrisy of the Kerry Edwards ticket...stung them with one of their own (Give em hell Zell)...and generally luxuriated in the fact that Kerry can't tell the same story twice...Dems are now conveniently forgetting the months and months of absolute character assassination of Bush during the primary season by the entire party, the 60 Minutes book tour season, the Farenheit 911 season and now the George Soros 527 season.

 

So what do do? Attack George Bush's Air National Guard record and Dick Cheney's drinking issues. Then bring up W and cocaine at Camp David...more draft dogding charges...etc etc etc.

 

Now THAT's a mature response. MEMO to Democrats: KERRY is the one who brought up Viet Nam as his main qualification...DEMS are the ones who voted againt Homeland security to protect labor unions (this ticked off Zell)...DEMS are the ones who have been energized by an anti War vote but nominated a pro war candidate (on even days, anyway)...and KERRY is the only one who made up four different verisons of all of his Cambodia stories. These wounds are SELF INFLICTED.

 

And NOW, they say, the Dems are prepared to go negative. GEEZ...can't wait.

 

RUSH PULLS A MATALIN: Rush's good friend Mary Matalin pretends to be happily married to James Carville, liberal attack dog...rabid no less. I don't buy it. Sorry...I know it is supposed to be beauty and the beast...but I don't buy it. Now the Rushter admits an affair with CNN feminists lib Daryn Kagyn. Rush, we love you...but your cred is going to suffer...or Daryn will. Soul "anti-mates" doesn't work.
