When you're Wright....you're right.........

Picking out the nuggests that best expose the intellectual bankruptcy that IS liberalism.....from reality, politics, the media, sports and entertainment...and having a few laughs doing it.

MORE PROOF THE "NEW TONE" IS NOT WORKING
I have always thought that Bush's "new tone" strategy will ultimately be his downfall...because his political enemies are not remotely interested in getting along or changing the tone...they want to destroy him and all who believe as he does. Apparently this is lost on W and his supposed genius politico...Karl Rove.

TED KENNEDY, the biggest beneficiary of the New Tone via the Education Bill (which he was allowed to write) and several other rear end smooching PR moves by Bush and his family....showed his tone yesterday with a blistering assessment of W and his foreign policy. New Tone 0-1.

MLK SUPPORTERS showed their appreciation of the President's visit this week (not to mention appointing all kinds of people of color to all kinds of vital positions in his cabinet) by booing, protesting and chanting typical liberal idiocy while Bush was in MLK's church. Coretta Scott King was the most polite...she had "no comment" on the Prez visit. New Tone 0-2.

WESLEY CLARK went on the warpath this week calling the administration "the most closed, nasty and imperialistic administration in history." Damn. Clark must be tone deaf. New Tone 0-3.

MEMO TO KARL ROVE AND PRES W: The new tone is not working. The only thing it is doing is TICKING US OFF...YOUR SUPPORTERS!

EIGHT IS ENOUGH: Or perhaps more than enough. Eight is the number of recorded positions Wesley Clark has taken on the war.....or I should say eight and counting. Now THATS leadership.

LIBS TOO FUNNY....
HOT HOT HOT: So Al Gore spoke today in New York on global warming, as the temperature reached 8 degrees outside and record cold is coming the next 48 hours. Does it really matter what he said INSIDE? Gotta love it.

LOOKING AHEAD: And today Disney celebrated GAY DAY at the family oriented theme park. Is this really shrewd marketing? I hope they opened up their newest attraction: "Gay Evolutionists....the next generation."

TIDAL WAVE: So Carol Mostly Brown finally gave up her dreams of ruining the support for Al Sharpton...I mean...being President. She has asked all of her voters (at least 21) to suppport of Howard Dean. No wonder Dean is dropping in the polls.

SORRY BILL: William Crystal of FOX (and other organizations) has predicted that the John Edwards campaign will not go anywhere due to his weakness in New Hampshire. Not so. Screwing up in that state should give him a big boost in S.C....the next primary. I wish I could agree with Crystal.

INNER VIEW: After watching Chris Jansing of MSNBC interview (if that's what it was) John Kerry today....I wouldn't be surprised if she is carrying his baby. She was like a giggling little school girl at a boy band body shaving session. (no offense to school girls.)  God help us if she interviews John Edwards........

A MUST FOR ALL LIBERALS...CONVENIENT IGNORANCE.
And this trait was on display recently by some great libs...Liquor Heir Multi Millionaire Ted Kennedy and the often discredited Alan Combs of Fox News. It involved some supposed conservatives indictment of the Bush's administration handling of the war run up.

They both quoted some quips from Paul O'Naive's comments on 60 Minutes....knowing full well that O'Neil's comments were based in ignorance of the long held regime change policy towards Iraq...and then they quoted that so-called US War College Report....which was nothing but a ridiculous paper turned in by a visiting professor who just happened to be a DEM ACTITIVIST.

Remember...to be a liberal...you must be able to (with a straight face...or in Kennedy's case...S___ faced) suspend part of what you know to be true in order to make your argument. Such is the folly of trying to defend an intellectually bankrupt world view.

JUST A THOUGHT...
Has anyone really stopped to consider  how stupid it is to let the tiny little states (population wise) of New Hampshire and Iowa decide our presidential candidates? I've heard these citizens interviewed...and with all due respect......this is a scary proposition.

UH OH...HERE HE COMES
As predicted days ago in this blog....John Edwards is someone to keep an eye on in Iowa and New Hampshire...then South Carolina.

I think he will be third or a strong fourth in Iowa...which may work out well for him since he was almost non existent just weeks ago. He could then do fairly well in New Hampshire although finishing far behind Dr. Dean...and then South Carolina would likely go for Edwards in a "damn yankees...what do they know" protest vote.  If THAT happens...it's on...and Edwards will appeal to many who do not like Dean and can't take another dizzying 48 hours of Wesley Clark's switcheroos......worse than Dean's but not covered as well.

Then again, with mental giants like Madonna on your side...what can you say? Great campaign song....since he's a new comer..."Like a Virgin."

JUST CAN'T STOP
You can't watch ESPN these days for more than a few minutes without one of the liberal weanie sportscasters takes a few seconds to make themselves feel superior by slamming Rush Limbaugh over his McNabb comments.

Interesting that a careful replay of the whole scenario proves that much more anti-McNabb comments were made by Steve Young (ex-white QB) and Michael Irvin (not white, not QB)...and that Rush talked mostly about the press.

This just points out one of Rush's few blind spots....the sports media. This was obvious years ago when Rush used to sing the praises of the Sportscenter team of Keith Olberman and Dan Patrick. While a good sports team....their liberal idiocy would show through. The fact is, in all societies that are run by the socialists principles these folks espouse...there is NO NEED for ESPN.... or any significant sports broadcasting.....for that matter. And they are all too foolish to figure it out. Finally Limbaugh has them figured out. Like I said...one of his few blind spots.

CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP...
SHOOTING LOW? Could be Wesley Clark does not have his sights set high enough. Recently of course, Clark absolutely guaranteed that if he were President, there would never be a terrorist attack on this country. Last time I checked, only one being could make such a guarantee...and His term is not up. (Talk about power of incumbency....)

SUPER DOC: Howard Dean showed his macho side today, shouting sternly "now you sit down" to an obviously anti-Dean questioner at a Pro-Dean meeting. Gee Howie...takes a lot of guts to play tough to a single dissenter at a rally with 500 supporters. You go boy! I bet you could have captured the Branch Davidian compound in the same time it took Reagan to bring down the Iron Curtain and the Berlin Wall.

BIG O LITTLE O: Apparently, among the many things former Secretary of Treasurer Paul O'Neil was naive about is the President's use of knicknames. The Prez called him "the Big O" and O'Neil apparently took offense.

That's not important in and of itself...but it is just evidence that perhaps O'Neils' doctors should re check that latest CAT scan. He is losing it. He also was not aware that "regime change" in Iraq goes back to the Clinton administration as a policy goal (as it should have been) and thought that with the DOW around 8000...it was a good time to try again on privatization of Social Security instead of another tax cut.

Are we sure he ran ALCOA....or did he just sell some aluminum siding? Charles Krauthammer on FOX said O'Neil's interview was the Wall Street Equivalent of "going postal." Damn. One from the Hammer and one from pro Hillary libs in Iowa better than anything I had today.

BRECK TO SURGE?
JOHN EDWARDS, I think, could be the surprise candidate in Iowa. His numbers are starting to rise and with Dean's temper becoming an issue....I think a lot of undecideds will go to the Breck Girl. This could give him momentum in New Hampshire and he could become the anti-Dean anti-Clark anti-dote.

People don't know him yet...which could help. They know all the others and DON"T LIKE THEM. (are you listening Sen. Kerry?)

OH MY....A SENSE OF HUMOR
Leftists aren't funny very often, but some in the Draft Hillary movement have come up with a great line...."Howard Dean: Doctor assisted suicide for the Democratic Party."

And like all humor....only funny if it is based on a true principal.

IS O NEIL RIGHT?
Former Bush cabinet secretary Paul O'Neil is out slamming the Bush administration now...much to the glee of the media. Not that media glee is helpful...because it certainly isn't...but I have always thought O'Neil was much smarter than most in the Bush Administration...including the Prez himself...and O'Neil isn't eaten up with all of that NEW TONE BS.....and he calls it like he sees it.

But this latest interview (and the book, I assume) sounds like bitter grapes from a man who has demonstrated huge intellect in the past. Has he lost it...or is he so mad at the Karl Rovian Bush strategy of "damn the principals, full compromise ahead" that he is blowing a public gasket?

SPORTS LIBS...BUT STILL LIBS..
For years it's been obvious that the talking heads on ESPN and other sports outlets are just as big a bunch of liberal weenies as their counterparts in the main stream news media. This is just now dawning on Rush Limbaugh, as he digests the continuing post mortem on his short lived sportscaster career. I always thought it was disconcerting for him to nearly worship the staff of ESPN for years...I guess he missed who they really are. I am sure he knows now. You can't watch a single pre game or halftime show without some guy referring to Rush and Donavon.

BUT DONAVON is now everywhere! He's on more commercials than Tiger Woods and the rest of the NFL players combined. I figure Rush's comments...which were about media coverage not quarterbacking prowess anyway...has been worth tens of millions to the QB.

DO WE REALLY NEED THIS?
Is the country really served by something called the "Black and Brown" Conference with candidates for President and lots of media coverage? Of course not...this only serves the race pimps and those who benefit from an over-emphasis on race as the only issue in life.

BUT IT WAS FUNNY....to see Carol Mostly-Brown and Al (not a very) Sharp-Ton argue about who is the racist among them. I've got news for 'em...THEY BOTH ARE!

VERMONT is snow white in so many ways...including its population. Dr. Dean was chastised for not importing talent of color from other states to fill out his cabinet. Can't you see a bunch of Alabama and Florida and Texas folks of color in the Vermont cabinet? But it does beg a funny question....does Dr. Dean know any blacks or browns? (their term, not mine).

BEST AND BRIGHTEST?
You would think that as the NFL playoffs go deeper, the coaching would get better. Surely, organizing a pro football team requires a significant intellect, but you wouldn't know it by watching the exciting if sometimes poorly coached Divisional games.

EVIL GENIUS Mike Martz really helped the Carolina Panthers cause by not taking a couple shots at the endzone in the final moments of regulation...going for the tie by running 35 seconds off the clock then kicking a short field goal to send the game into OT.

MIKE SHERMAN of the Packers, however, gets the absolute no brain snatch defeat from jaws of victory award for his non-performance in the waning moments of the Philly game. With the Eagles all but dead facing 4th and 26...Sherman refused to call a time out to insure that the Pack defense would give up anything 25 yards or shorter...therefore insuring a win. As it turns out, his team was in the wrong defense, one that gave up the deep middle zone. And it did give it up...27 yards worth...and the rest if history.

SPEAKING of history: is this it for Brett Farve? He totally and obviously gave up on the sidelines when his team gave up the long first down...and it almost looked intentional...his throw away on his first play back in the game. A fabulous career shouldn't be sullied by one play...but that one is such a stinker, it might. Easily the worst play of his entire career, and in comes in OT of a Divisional play off game.
