INFORMING THE DEBATE
OPPONENTS OF IMMIGRATION REFORM as proposed by the President are making the proposal look good (which is may or may
not be) by being in a fantasy world with regard to hispanic immigration's effect on U.S. employment.
Get a clue...the vast majority of jobs taken by the hispanics are jobs Americans DO NOT WANT and WILL NOT DO well or
for very long. Yes, Americans will turn to welfare and other support programs or crime before taking these jobs. Absolutely.
Ask a thousand employers of largely hispanic work forces..and you'll get a thousand yes's to this question.Guaranteed. I am
just one.
ACADEMIA does little to inform any debate in this country when it comes to practicality and realistic results. Now college
professors are stating that all we have to do to solve this is raise all of the 8-12 dollar per hour jobs to 20 or 30 bucks
an hour and WHAMMO...problem solved...instantly we will have milliions of clean cut honest hard working anglo's lining up
to pour concrete, mow grass, prune shrubs, pick oranges, etc....problem solved.
Doesn't it scare you that people who know this little about business are teaching economics in our colleges and universities?
Do wonder so many American voters are clueless on economic issues (and can't run their house hold's finances, for that matter).
LETS BE UN-PC for a minute and spell out the underlying causes of this issue (don't liberals LOVE underlying causes for
criminals, etc?). Americans as laboroers tend to be lazy, un productive, likely to report in sick, likely to file workers
comp claims, harrassment suits, etc. Remember, TAKE THIS JOB AND SHOVE IT was a big hit song in this nation at one time, and
still remains a recurrent favorite among certain groups of people.
MEANWHILE, Mexico does not represent much of an opportunity for folks who will take the above jobs happily and the two
countries share an immense border. These are the underlying causes....and I don't think any of the three are solveable. Therefore...management
of the problem is the only solution. I don't know if Bush's program is good management or not...but I do know the
only reason what we're doing now is working is because most folks just ignore it. Which may be the best thing anyway.
INTERESTING ESPN is launching a network called ESPN Deportes at this time, isnt' it?

CANADIAN FUNNIES
WHO IS WATHING? So now Dr. Dean is said to have appeard some 90 times on an Canadian Public Affairs TV show. Apparently
no one was watcing because his gaffes only came to light under the media microscope. No one remembered.
ONLY PUBLIC stations could get away with having Howard Dean as a guest 90 times and still stay on the air. Perhaps subjecting
Saddam Hussein to those episodes will get some valuable info.
HAMAS should be brought in as a partner in all Middle East peace negotitations....among Dean's foreign policy brilliance
on the Canadian show. His analysis of the Hawkeye Cauci was some of his domestic brilliance. You can't write this stuff.
ON CALLING THE IOWA CAUCUSES a bunch of bunk...Dean said that "if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have said that."
No sh_t! Is that a defense?
WHAT'S IN A SLOGAN?: The New Hampshire state motto is "Live Free or Die." Then they go and elect a bunch of liberals
almost every election. Apparently, nothing is in a slogan. Or they are all dead....

JUST A MOMENT...take a breath....
The immigration issue is not as cut and dried as so many conservatives think. First, the "rewarding law breakers" argument
sounds great, but consider a couple things....like the over-whelming diversion of resources it would take to deport them all
from the real immigration problem...Middle Eastern immigration.
Also...consider the economic impact. Most of the jobs held by hispanics are jobs Amercians DO NOT WANT and WILL NOT KEEP.
EVER WONDER why employers hire hispanic labor? It's not because it's so cheap...because it isn't that much cheaper. But
consider what we've seen two members of the great American workforce do lately: We have seen one try and pull a
hundred million dollar scam in a lottery....and seen another sue his cable company for making him lazy and his wife fat.
That's in the last 24 hours. Can you blame employers for not wanting that work ethic counting against their workers comp and
health insurances? And it is rampant in this society.
LIBERALS want more, of course, for the illegal immigrants. They want full social services provided at tax payer expense.
What else is new. And this is what really gripes conservatives...not the basic idea of matching willing employers with willing
employees....especially when there's no willing American workers in particular fields.
PANDERING to the moderates, however, is what will sink the Bush Administration before 2004, and this is being seen as a
bad case of that. It may be that, at least in part. It just goes to show that the Karl Rove strategy of trying to "rent moderate
and liberal voters" issue by issue will cave in on itself eventually. As this site has stated before on the record, this WILL
FAIL Bush in 2004. And while I think a good policy here might help economically, help the terrorism fight and actually help
keep illegals OFF the public dole, etc.
BUT BUSH won't get credit for that because he will probably let too many liberals write the policy. Besides...he deserves
the criticism for his capitualtion on education, campaign finance, prescription drugs, airline security, and on and on. So
many conservatives think this is more of the same...and even if it isn't...this proves the danger in capitulation.
REMEMBER the real name of compassionate conservatism: Dispassionate Capitulism.

THANKS SO MUCH REFORMERS.....
Leftwing groups, invented to side step campaign finance reform, are vowing to spend 400 million bucks to defeat the President
this year. Thank you John (I'm really a Democrat) McCain and all you other phoneys for getting the money out of politics!
GREAT JOB.
REFERENCE: I told you so file, item 35.

KERRY DROPS AGAIN...shock shock.
John "Effen" Kerry, once the favorite to sweep New Hampshire, is now in danger of dropping to third place...way way way
behind Dr. Dean and now likely a few points behind General Wimply (I love the military as much as Bill Clinton) Clarke.
I'm sure the campaign staff is wondering why.
MEMO to Kerry Campaign: some suggestions.
Next time, do not choose a candidate with a successful personality by-pass operation.
Make sure Mrs Kerry sells when her IQ reaches 55.
Keep all war related answers to less than 45 minutes each.
Try to go ten minutes betweeen Viet Nam references...we did not WIN that war.
Reduce hair related expenditures by 40%.
Drop the arrogance...we all know Kerry had to marry his money.

Senator Bradley...please....get off it.
Today former Senator Bill Bradley managed to mention that he received a lot of support in New Hampshire and Iowa years
ago and then said "that many many (of those voters) have asked me 'who among this very capable group would you recommend.'"
Right...and Britney Spears was NOT drunk!
This was less believable than that tired old billionaire friend story from Little Dick Gephardt.

WHY BUSH WILL LOSE IN 2004
As funny and ridiculous as Howard Dean is as well as the other eight dwarfs...and as well as things are going for "W"
with the market roaring and Sadaam in custody, George Bush will likely not be re-elected in 2004. Unfortunately for W and
for us, our president has inherited his Dad's penchant for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory by swerving way
left on domestic issues in a pathetic attempt to molify moderates and swing voters.
This "new tone" strategy for political issues and "compassionate conservatism" on domestic issues is a guaranteed loser.
The new tone has done nothing for Bush but irritate his supporters and cost the nation some great judges...while the
other...."dispassionate capitulism"....is planting seeds of ruin for our economy long term with stunning government
spending. All to be outlined in a new book: TONE DEAF: How George Bush will Snatch Defeat from Jaws of Victory in 2004.
More on this later.

God, guns, Gerafalo, etc
HAPPY CONSERVATIVES: Recent polling has pointed out in no uncertain terms that Republicans believe in God, go to Church,
and are happier than Democrats under all administrations by large percentages. Gee, what a shock. Have you ever met a happy
lib?
MOVE ON . ORG is attempting to educate voters this coming cycle with informational ads. Who will choose the
ads? Jeneane Gerafalo! That's great. Put together an educational program based on the opinions of someone who has been
proven wrong on everything she has publicly said in the past year.
DR. DEAN finally figured out that Usama Bin Laden took credit for the 9-11 attacks...thereby making it OK for us
to "pre-judge" him. He says he took the position of not pre-judging as a "candidate for President" but did not feel
that way in his role as an "American citizen" and that he was aware of Bin Laden's role all along. Right....and Britney
Spears WAS NOT DRUNK.
....AND BY THE WAY....Dr. Dean....how can you on the one hand think we should be directing ALL of our
anti-terrorism efforts and resources at Bin Laden while simultaneously not pre-judging him? Oh I forgot...Britney was NOT
drunk. That hole on your resume is fast getting larger than the Kennebunkport ozone hole........
BUSH DOCTRINE: the cowboy is getting results with his pre-emptive actions...causing Libya recently to start their newest
strategy....PRE-EMPTIVE SURRENDER....while seeing Musharraf getting even stronger in Pakistan as a result of his pro US stance....with
Iran moderating all the time. As another cowboy, Josie Wales opined...."man's gotta have an edge." Willingness to use our guns
and other military assets wisely is an edge indeed. And remember libs: people LIKE cowboys.
MIS-MATCH: Juan "Fine Whine" Williams made the mistake of disagreeing with Charles Krauthammer tonight on Fox
News Special Report. It was no contest. "The Hammer" could spot him 65 IQ points and still cover the spread. Then
again, Juan is working at NPR til he can get a real job. I hear Jayson Blair's desk is open at the Times.

RANDOM but right....
CABLE NETWORKS are dutifully reporting that the latest Bin Laden tapes are "calling for holy war" against the U.S. and
U.S. troops. Really? I would have never guessed that.
ESPN is launching their all spanish language channel this week. As if any media outlet needed to do more to highlight
differences and dis-educate the nation's "yutes." What's next....ESPN Ebonics? How about ESPN PINK? ESPN XXX?
HOWARD DEAN gets the "courage of convictions" award....dropping out of his last church and in fact the entire denomination
due to a flap over a bike trail. I'm not sure the gospel message sunk in too deep on ole Dr. Dean.
THE HEISMAN Award has always been ridiculous to me...an individual award in the consumate team sport. Never more
evident than this year, as winner Jason White has been horrible in the last two games and Oklahoma's record and White's gaudy
numbers exposed for the shams they are based on their conference's 2-6 implosion in the bowls.

Tough sell.
So Al Queda is now in the process of trying to recruit socially established non-Arabs to become suicide bombers.
In other words, they are trying to recruit WHITE GUYS WITH GOOD JOBS. Well that ought to test their sales ability.
Of course, on the upside...the retirement plan should require very little capital investment.

Wake up folks...there IS no THEY.
Symptomatic of so many public discussions in this country are supposedly intelligent and informed journalists and
others calling for "they" or "them" to do something about a problem. One such situation is the BCS championship
set up in college football. After several near misses, this system has really messed up the crowning of a consensus
national champion this year.
But hey: MEMO to all those holier than thou sports casters and columnists calling for change to this system...they
can't fix it. And the reason they can't fix it is because THERE IS NO THEY. Consider the following actors in
this drama:
*THE BOWLS. These are corporations who answer to the communities, hotels, restaurants and chambers of commerce where
they take place. Generally, these are the folks who founded the bowls in the first place. Today the chairman of the Rose Bowl flat
out admitted on ESPN that the Rose Bowl wants their traditional Big Ten-Pac Ten match up because that is the
best way for them to sell out tickets and merchandise and to garner large TV ratings which of course means more money and
more exposure for Pasadena. Remember, money and exposure for Pasadena are the principals that FOUNDED the Rose Bowl.
*THE ATHLETIC DIRECTORS of Division I schools are trying to figure out how to finance all these
women's teams and most mens teams....when only one sport or perhaps two at most turn a profit.
*THE SCHOOL PRESIDENTS of Division I are too busy trying to kiss the rear ends of that most dastardly of all
institutions...the faculty senate...while understanding the bottom line realities with which they hold their Athletic Directors
responsible.(see above).
*THE TV NETWORKS are trying to sell SUV's and beer to millions of people, and love all of this controversy
because it makes their job very easy.
*The NCAA. Has nothing to do with it (which should irritate Martha Burke....if you don't get it, don't ask.)
So if you're a fan or journalist or whoever...and feel real proud of your self righteous "decide it on the field" speech.....see
who in that list above really can afford to care what you think. All of those are real people who have to reach real goals
in order to bring home a real paycheck....no one is sovereignly hovering above the situation with the power to solve the problem.
So DEAL WITH IT and enjoy the games and the discussion.
Americans love the bigness of college football....the stadiums and marching bands and uniforms and the excellence
achieved by hard working coaches with tons of pressure....but all of that costs a lot of money. So if you love it, quit complaining
about the efforts to keep that money coming in. If you don't like it, be quiet and go watch a Division III game.
